JACOB ZUMA'S POST 2010 FIASCO (CHUCKLE)
On the lighter side
Article By: www.hayibo.com

Jacob Zuma's camp has asked his militant supporters to show restraint until after the 2010 World Cup so as not to endanger the staging of the event. However once the event was over, said a spokesperson, "cadres should feel free to uphold democracy in whatever manner they choose, using whichever projectiles and flammables come to hand."
Observers say this is the first time the Zuma camp has made any effort to curb the confrontational rhetoric of the Mkhonto we Sizwe veterans and ANC Youth League members who have vowed to plunge the country into chaos if Zuma is found guilty of corruption, or if he is given his day in court, or not, or something, just because.
An essential pension plan
The reading of the statement was delayed briefly while paramedics treated an elderly woman whose wooden replica AK-47 had become entangled in her leopard-skin bra, leaving her with severe splinter-related injuries.
According to the statement it was essential for Zuma's supporters not to do anything that could jeopardise the pension plans of either Zuma or the National Executive Council.
"Cadres must understand that the 2010 World Cup is going to make the party and a number of senior comrades extremely rich, and when senior comrades are rich, democracy is rich," read the statement.
"We therefore call upon them to behave in a way that goes against their more incendiary democratic urges, and to refrain from performing acts of love for Msholozi that involve threats to kill, eliminate, remove or otherwise terminally inconvenience political opponents."
The 2010 contingency plan...
It went on to state that FIFA and European policy-makers were not familiar with South African democratic traditions.
"What we call rolling mass action, they call mob justice. What we call lobbying, they call intimidation. What we call the fruits of liberation, they call a bribe."
It said that these were "ugly Eurocentric terms", but that they would have to be tolerated for the time being.
Meanwhile Zuma's camp has confirmed that it is working on a contingency plan to deal with possible fallout if the World Cup is withdrawn from South Africa at the eleventh hour.
Dubbed 'Operation Jump Up And Down', the plan involves "burning some railway carriages, emptying municipal rubbish bins onto pavements, and breaking down the symbols of capitalist greed, such as shop windows and display cabinets of electronics goods stores, cell phone vendors, and branches of American Swiss"

DIABOLICAL SCRAMBLE FOR A PIECE OF "ZUMA" POWER
Aug 7th 2008 | JOHANNESBURG
From The Economist print edition
The African National Congress under Jacob Zuma shows signs of losing its way
A LITTLE over half a year after Thabo Mbeki was ousted as president of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), worries are growing about the party’s new leadership and where it may take South Africa after a general election due next year. Arguments still rage over the corruption charges facing the new leader, Jacob Zuma, who is likely to replace Mr Mbeki as the country’s president. An unseemly fight within the ANC across the country is denting people’s confidence in their rulers.
Mr Zuma appeared in court this week in a bid to have the charges against him dismissed. Other appeals will probably follow and his trial—if it happens at all—is unlikely to start before the election. Critics accuse Mr Zuma of delaying tactics, but hundreds of supporters, including ANC bigwigs and some cabinet ministers, went to the small town of Pietermaritzburg to support their champion. They want the charges dismissed on the grounds that he is the victim of a political conspiracy and that a fair trial has become impossible.
There are worries as to how far Mr Zuma’s zealous supporters may go. The ANC’s leader in the Free State province, re-elected last month, turned the party’s provincial conference into a fund-raiser, with delegates urged to open their wallets to help pay Mr Zuma’s legal bills. Some go much further than this. The new leader of the ANC Youth League, Julius Malema, created a storm when he bellowed at a rally in June that he was ready to “kill” for Mr Zuma. He later said that his words should not be taken literally, but refused to apologise for them. The row caught fire again when the secretary-general of the Congress of South African Trade Unions expressed his undying support for Mr Zuma by repeating Mr Malema’s words.
The ANC itself, though professing its belief in democratic institutions, has failed to denounce Mr Malema’s words publicly, beyond a statement from Kgalema Motlanthe, the party’s deputy president, that they were “irresponsible”. An unrepentant Mr Malema then declared that the opposition had to be “eliminated”. Those who objected to his words were “political imbeciles” and “forces of counter-revolution”, said the Youth League.
Quarrels are also swirling around the constitutional court. Last week it ruled against Mr Zuma in a case related to the charges he faces. Mr Zuma’s supporters have openly questioned its judges’ impartiality, an unprecedented slight against one of the country’s most respected institutions. The court’s judges had earlier accused John Hlophe, a controversial judge who presides over the high court in the Western Cape, of trying to lean on two members of the constitutional court to persuade them to rule in favour of Mr Zuma.
Gwede Mantashe, the ANC’s secretary-general, lashed out at the constitutional court judges for going public with their accusations against Mr Hlophe before following the proper complaint procedures. Mr Mantashe saw it as a preparation for an onslaught on Mr Zuma. Whatever the outcome of the spat, the judiciary is damaged. One side insists that some judges are part of a witch hunt, while the other argues that the ANC is undermining judicial independence.
In any event, divisions inside the ANC since Mr Zuma’s election as the party’s national leader are as wide as ever—and are being replicated in local leadership contests. At the North West provincial conference in May, police had to disperse irate delegates claiming they were wrongfully excluded from the gathering. In the same province, some party members have taken the ANC to court. Others have been beaten up or shot.
In the Western Cape, the ANC’s provincial secretary was stabbed in the neck at a party get-together. Countless other party meetings and nominations of candidates have been marred by intimidation and allegations of patronage and vote-buying. When the Youth League gathered to elect its leadership in April, the conference was suspended after some delegates got into drunken brawls, throwing chairs and exposing their bare bottoms to the media.
After decades of stitching up party elections behind closed doors, the ANC is finding it hard to become more open without rancour or greed. Mr Motlanthe warned a recent provincial conference in Limpopo that the party was in danger of following other liberation movements that lost their way after succumbing to “division, factionalism, stagnation and patronage”.
If this scramble for office and its spoils turns uglier, the ANC’s popularity could dip. More importantly, it could damage South African democracy, since the ANC is likely to remain in power for a long time. Party bigwigs have been sent to problem provinces to discipline troublemakers. The new ANC leaders say that officials who perform badly will be replaced, a surprisingly novel idea in a party used to rewarding loyalty more than competence. Parliament, where the ANC has a big majority, seems to be keeping the executive in check more vigorously since Mr Zuma ousted Mr Mbeki as the party boss. But it is unclear whether this refreshing zeal will endure once the new guard takes charge, almost certainly with Mr Zuma as the country’s president next year.
The ANC’s new leaders say they want to make government work better to improve people’s lives faster. They recently sacked two of the country’s nine provincial premiers, both of them appointed by Mr Mbeki. One ran the worst-performing province, the Eastern Cape, long stained by dismal management, crumbling schools and hospitals, and allegations of corruption. The other, Ebrahim Rasool, was in charge of one of the best-performing provinces, the Western Cape, but had long been scrapping with the party’s local bosses. The opposition Democratic Alliance could wrest the province from the ANC at the election if it manages to join forces with a flurry of smaller opposition parties, as it did to win control of the city of Cape Town. Still, there is little doubt that the ANC, as the party of liberation under Nelson Mandela and others, will retain a solid majority in the national Parliament.
Meanwhile, violent crime remains high, food and petrol prices have soared and power-cuts earlier this year dented people’s confidence. The economy has slowed and higher interest rates are biting. There were strikes across the country on August 6th. The ANC’s unedifying internal wrangles are only adding to South Africans’ growing sense of gloom.

IT IS USELESS FOR WHITES TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE RACIST ANC
Labor Negotiations with the ANC
Mike Smith - 12/27/2007
In a recent article (http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_i...5941883C707494), the boys from Solidarity, Flip Buys, Dirk Herman, Kallie Kriel and other predominantly-white unions claimed to believe that they can bargain with the ANC. But to bargain successfully or even negotiate, you have to have some kind of leverage. You must have either money, numbers of people or superior weaponry. Why would Jacob Zuma and the ANC even listen to Solidarity??
Solidarity has nothing; Not a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. No money, no masses of people and certainly no weapons.
How can you bargain for a higher salary when you are unemployed? What are you going to fall back on when the deal falls through? Who stands to lose the most from the deal falling through?
Can you see my point? You never bargain from a point of a real need. Sun Tzu says you first win the war and then you go to battle.
The mistake these Afrikaner “Academics and Intelligentsia” makes is that they do not believe the Communist Tripartite Alliance (ANC, SACP, Cosatu) are their enemies. They honestly believe these people are reasonable human beings who will listen to their Afrikaner concerns. Dirk Herman wrote a little booklet on how to implement Affirmative action “Fairly”, called the “Good Practice guide to Affirmative Action” ( not sure about the exact title, My copy is…somewhere…) . What a crock. Even he admitted later that it was a failure and the ANC wiped their arsses with it.
Why should the ANC listen to Solidarity? It is not their people who suffer under Affirmative Action and Black Economic Empowerment. It is not their language and schools coming under attack. The ANC have nothing to negotiate for. They have everything already! So why should they even bother wasting time to come to the negotiating table? Solidarity will just be wasting their time.
I know how Solidarity will negotiate with the ANC. They want to propose a deal that will be beneficial to both sides; a win-win negotiation. They want to come with their western, capitalistic approach and show the ANC that both can walk away being winners. They are going to come up with the usual “Goals, Trade-offs, Alternatives, etc” nonsense of negotiating, that one gets taught on a two day course.
The truth is that the ANC is not interested. Just the fact that these Afrikaners want to bargain or negotiate is a sign of weakness to the ANC. If the Afrikaners had any balls they would first fight and then negotiate. All the ANC policies are aimed at total destruction of Whites in South Africa; their main focus is the Afrikaner; more particular …”The Afrikaner Intelligentsia”.
I cannot believe these so called Afrikaner leaders have not figured this elementary principle of warfare out. Karl von Clausewitz writes about it extensively in his books.
“Trace the ultimate substance of enemy strength to the fewest possible sources; compress the attack on these sources to the fewest possible actions; and subordinate minor actions as much as possible.” – On War, KvC.
In simple terms, “Strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter”.
I am sure the Communists are au fait with Von Clausewitz and Sun Tzu. It is amazing that these so called Afrikaner leaders are such idiots.
Yes, Flip, Dirk and Kallie…start realizing that the YOU are the fly in the ointment to the ANC. They are coming after you and all your “Intelligentsia” buddies in the Afrikanerbond. They won’t stop until the last one of you is out of this country. You are the biggest threat to them, which is why they want you gone.
Over the last 15 years, the ANC have bribed, conned and lied the Afrikaners out of their leadership. What we sit wit now are the dregs that are left over.
Either this Afrikaner Intelligentsia is amazingly stupid or they are just pretending to put up a fight against the ANC. Are they already in the pockets of the opposition? Maybe they should come out and tell us what the hell is really going on? Are they being paid to put up a WWF-wrestling show for us? Dare I say, a mock fight? I would really like to know.
If these Afrikaner leaders are really interested in negotiating, they should first study their opponents and their opponent’s tactics carefully. Then, after they have formulated a strategy of their own, get some leverage. Then, and only then…you go to the negotiating table. Your opponent should be the one wanting to negotiate…not you. In fact, your opponent should be begging for negotiations, not you.
What these “Afrikaner Intelligentsia” of Solidarity, Afri-forum and the Afrikanerbond do not realize or do not want to acknowledge is that their enemies are bent on their total annihilation while they (the Arikaners) merely want to survive. These Afrikaners want to pretend that there are no wolves attacking the sheep. The flock will never be able to graze freely and in peace, unless the Afrikaners have some Sheepdogs protecting the perimeter against the wolves.
Unless they change their strategy and tactics drastically, the ANC will be forever walking over them. Maybe the first thing they have to do is acknowledge how deep they are in the brown smelly stuff. Work from there. Work themselves into a better position, later into a dominant position, only then can they go for a choke or a submission.
In the mean time I can see the ANC scoffing and laughing at these amateurs; me too.
ANC CONTROLLED MUNICIPALITIES IN TATTERS (LIKE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY THEY "CONTROL!"
THIS IS YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE THAT IN THIS SLIMEPIT- CREATED BY THE ANC- CALLED "DEMOCRATIC S.A, MANDELATOPIA, RAINBOW NATION" - OR WHAT THE HELL FUNNY NAME THEY TRY TO WACK ON IT TO MAKE IT LOOK GOOD IN THE VIEW OF THE WORLD- IS BEING WAGGED BY THE TERRORISTS, COMMUNISTS- AND UNIONS- AND THAT THE ANC IS A TOTAL INCOMPETENT USELESS LOT OF CRIMINALS THAT CANNOT CONTROL EVEN THEIR SUBORDINATES!!
THIS LOT OF ILLITERATE NICOMPOOPS IS MAKING A TOTAL MOCKERY OF THE TERM "GOVERNANCE"- NOT EVEN MENTIONING THE TERM "DEMOCRATIC"- BECAUSE "DEMOCRATIC" IN THE ANC's DICTIONARY- MEANS RACISM BY BLACKS- CALLED "XENOPHOBIA", KILLING OF WHITE PEOPLE, MURDERING OF WHITE FARMERS, CORRUPTION AND DENIAL, LAND GRABS, THEFT OF OUR RECOURCES- AND COUVERING FOR ALL COMMUNIST BUDDIES. WHEN YOU GET CAUGHT- YOU USE THE POWER OF THREATS- AND OVERRIDE THE JUDICIARY SYSTEM TO GET OUT, BULLDOZE HUNDREDS OF NEW LAWS TO SUIT YOUR AIM, THOUSANDS OF NEW LAWS TO AMMEND YOUR MISTAKES OF YOUR PREVIOUS LAWS- AND MILLIONS OF BY-LAWS TO CORRECT YOUR AMMENDMENTS THAT WENT HAYWIRE...THEN SIMPLY LEAVE IT TO THE IDIOTIC "LAW ENFORCEMENT" - AND PUBLIC PAWNS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL YOU ACTUALLY TRIED TO ENFORCE - OR SIMPLY DISBAND ANY FORM OF OPPOSING JUDICIONAL FORCE. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK- YOU THREATEN YOUR OWN COUNTRY's POLICE SERVICE WITH DEATH- AND CHALLENGE YOUR HIGHEST RULING COURT. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK- YOU SIMPLY LET LOOSE YOUR COMMUNIST YOUTH LEAGUE GORILLAS, COMMUNIST UNIONS, COMMUNIST WOMAN'S LEAGUES, COMMUNIST YOUNG COMMUNISTS, COMMUNIST CONTROLLED TAXIS- AND COMMUNIST REBEL SECURITY FORCES TO RUN AMOK, BURN VEHICLES, BRAKE SHOPS AND BURN TYRES- AND HAPPILY SCREAMINGLY AND YELLINGLY MAKE THE COUNTRY UN-GOVERNABLE! THAT IS THE ANC's WAY OF DOING THINGS....JUST SO LONG THE 2010 SOCCER FIASCO EXPLODES HERE IN HAPPY SOUTH-AZANIACA!!!
More than 40 municipalities in three provinces are under investigation for corruption, the Ministry of Provincial and Local Government revealed on Monday in a written response to a Democratic Alliance question.
The ministry revealed that 43 municipalities across the provinces of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape were under investigation for either maladministration or corruption.
With 35 municipalities under investigation, Kwazulu-Natal was the worst offender followed by the Eastern Cape with seven, while the Western Cape had only a single municipality under investigation.
The DA said the investigation, which included the one involving the Ukhahlamba municipality in the Eastern Cape where more than 100 children died after allegedly drinking contaminated water, reflected the level of poor governance in the country's municipalities.
Cadre deployment
"This latest example of poor governance at the local government level is just another in a growing body of evidence which shows how municipalities are being hampered by administrative incapacity and inept political leadership," DA spokesperson Willem Doman said in a statement on Monday.
The failure of municipalities to deliver quality basic services and the high rate of corruption in local government was rooted in the ANC's policy of cadre deployment.
"Key municipal posts are occupied by party loyalists who are often not qualified for the job and important oversight functions are not given priority," Doman said.
He called on the National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete to ensure that the matter was debated in Parliament.

ANC COMMUNIST RADICALS WANT TO KILL SCORPION MEMBERS TO PROTECT ZUMA
NOW THE RADICALS IN THE ANC BEGINS TO SHOW WHO RAN THE COUNTRY FOR 14 YEARS- AND REVEALS THAT THE ANC TAIL WILL NOT ALLOW ANYBODY ELSE TO TAKE THE POWER AWAY FROM THEM. THE COMMUNISTS WILL KILL THEIR OWN KIND IN ORDER TO STAY IN THE SEATS. KINDLY TAKE NOTE WHAT WILL BE IN STORE FOR SA IF MR. ZUMA AND HIS COMMUNIST UNION SUPPORTERS IS TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE COUNTRY.....SLAUGHTER AND MAYEM!
A top official from the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has warned that the African National Congress will not hesitate to "kill" the Scorpions if they continued to pursue ANC president Jacob Zuma, the Sowetan newspaper reported on Monday.
The report quoted Cosatu's KwaZulu-Natal secretary general Zet Luzipho as saying: "If the Scorpions bite the wrong people we will kill them. Like a dog when it starts biting relatives at your home. You get rid of it. We will do the same to the Scorpions."
Luzipho's statements followed the protests held throughout Durban on Friday when members of the ANC's eThwkweni region staged protests at 16 police stations throughout Durban to demand that criminal charges against Zuma be dropped.
Zuma faces a charge of racketeering, four charges of corruption, a charge of money laundering and 12 charges of fraud related to a multibillion-rand arms government arms deal. Zuma was charged in 2005 but that case was struck from the role in 2006. He was re-charged in December 2007.
The two Thint companies -- Thint Holding (Southern Africa) and Thint -- are the South African subsidiaries of the French arms manufacturing giant Thales International (formerly Thomson-CFS). Each company faces a charge of racketeering and two counts of corruption.
Meanwhile, it merged last week that businessman Hugh Glenister would be seeking an urgent high court interdict to bar Travelgate MPs from debating the future of the Scorpions.
He said at a Cape Town Press Club lunch on Tuesday that his lawyers were hoping to go to court to argue the matter next week.
The application would seek to have "220 members, if not more", disqualified on the grounds of conflict of interest from voting the Scorpions out of existence.
Glenister is currently waiting for the outcome of a Constitutional Court hearing on his challenge to government plans to disband the unit.

WELCOME TO THE POST APARTHEID,WONDERFUL MURDEROUS SOUTH AFRICAN BLOG
PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT THIS BLOG IS A COMPILATION OF VARIOUS OTHER BLOGS, NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS, PERSONAL VIEWS- AND LETTERS.
THIS BLOG DOES NOT NECCESARILY PORTRAY THE PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW OF THE AUTHOR- AND THE AUTHOR CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER INDIVIDUALS PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW ON THIS BLOG, NATIONALLY- OR INTERNATIONALLY.
All whites has to be erradicated from all levels in the country, whether it is financially, schooling, sports, work- you call it- whites are eliminated and excluded by force. The ANC has their "Diplomatic" terms for it- Affirmative action, BEE, Quotas, Equity acts, Land Distribution, etc, etc- but their bottom goal is to clean Africa from whites! Hundreds of aliens are welcome to work, stay- and vote in SA- so long they do not appear in their WHITE pajamas- otherwise- they are free to enter and get all the royalties SA can offer. White citizens in SA can only get ONE royalty the regime has to offer: The royalty of leaving SA!
Uncanny -isn't it: The ANC- mostly aliens themselves- are now alienating true SA citizens- and claiming the country belongs to THEM ( Sounds very much parasitic to me)
This Blog also want to show the world what type and caliber our so-called "government" really are- the thievery, banality, corruption, denails, communism, witch hunts, racism, hate speeches agains whites, "don't care" attitudes, gravy train riding, cliques , lavish money spending, exauburant salaries and many more attrocities under the banner of "Democracy."
Never in the history of this country- was there such an esculation of crime, corruption and "high profile"-if you can attach that term- arrests as when this corrupt regime took over.
Since the ANC international supported hi-jack of SA- everything falls apart- and are in shambles: The Defence Force, Education, Medical sector, Police Force, City Councels, Airports, Borders...and about everything that is being run by an ANC deligate. Now the ONE unit that actually made a success- The Scorpions- are to be dismantled because too many ANC "comrades" are caught for corruption- and sent to jail, where they belong. Zuma and his corruption with Shabir Sheik- after he just-just missed jail for rape, and Mbeki and the top clique for having a couple of front companies where millions of rands are swooping through.
We also remembered the Scorpions zeroing-in on other top criminals like Jackie Selebe (So-Called Police Commisioner), The Parliamentary Flygate bunch, Crooked Toni Yengeni (M.E.C), Mantho Tshabalala Msimang and her ex-Botswana corruption history when she ran away, Pnuel Maduna and the millions of litres of oil he sold and deposit the takings in ANC accounts, Nkosana Zuma and the cool 50 million donated for AIDS she squandered, The Vice president and her 40 thousand she spent on a luxury holiday from taxpayer's funds and so-on and so-on. The list just keep on growing. NOW you know why the elite unit HAS to be stopped- otherwise SA will sit without a government by the end of 2008...all back in jail where most came from!! We will not even go down in history as far as '94 when other criminal ANC "high-ups" like Winnie "Necklace" Mandella and her "soccer team" rattled the ANC beloved liberal world with the Stompie Sepei murder- one she did not even go to jail for- and her thousands of rands of debt!
We do not even talk of Mr. Robert McBride of the Mangoo's Bar bomb slaugter- who was found guilty- sat 3 wonderful years in prison, became Mbeki's attache in Chille- and now SECURITY CHIEF- again in court for "Marxist" tipe of rule in the councel, corruption- and drunk while driving. One of these days there will be more ANC top-hats in jail that common criminals!! Now the Scorpions are dismantled for doing their job too good- instead of the whole ANC parliament being fired!!!
Currently- SA is being run by Lethuli house, The millions of unions, the Communist Party, thousands of ANC affiliated "Groups & Leagues- and the top ANC clique.
SA has three unconditional laws since the ANC took hold of our system:
1. IF IT MOVES- KILL IT-
2. IF IT LIES MOTIONLESS- RAPE IT-
3. IF IT DOES NONE OF THE ABOVE- STEAL IT.
Thus the reason why capital punishment was abolished by the ruling regime- they were too scared that should the death penalty stay- most of their comrades would've been wiped out- it is a natural common way of life in Africa. If something stands in your way of progress- be a natural warrior- and kill it. Young Africans are taught to rape virgins to cure themselves from aids. You can't steal- you just take what you want/need. Nothing wrong in participating in the above three catogories, because all blacks have "Ubuntu"(Goodness) in them- so- you have no evil in you.(That is reserved for whites.)
We hope that those 'Free the ANC" liberal movements and past as well as current donators will open their eyes to the horrible reality in S.A- not only are S.A whites slaughered- but also white tourists from YOUR countries. Please wake-up- and stop your donations to this ruling racist regime.
If you are still unsure of the situation- please do what you are so good at: Send in the camera troops unnoticed for- say 3 weeks (Just tell them to hold on tight to their cameras, equipment and cellphones)....and see for yourself the deterrioration of a country that once was a leader in many technologies. You murdered our country for your own personal gain- so, if you have any concious left- stop this bullying non-functional government now! Remember- this is not SA anymore....THIS IS NOW GANGLAND, and we are ruled by the norm of this new system- Crime, corruption, murder, rape....and o- I forgot- GOVERNMENT DENAIL AT ALL TIMES!
NOW- LET US INTRODUCE A SHORT BACKGROUND OF YOUR ELECTED "DEMOCRATIC" ANC "GOUVERNMENT" YOU SO NEATLY SCREAMED FOR........
INSIDE QUADRO
End of an Era
The first-hand testimony by former combatants of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) about the cruel ANC prison regime are an event in South African history. Never before has such concentrated factual evidence been presented about the inner nature of the ANC and its eminence grise, the South African Communist Party.
- If people wish to understand the current operation of the ANC/SACP, they must look here:
The ANC/SACP did a very good job in preventing public knowledge of its secret history from emerging. Those who survived the Gulag system of the ANC/SACP did so knowing that to reveal what they had been through meant re-arrest, renewed tortures and in all probability, death. They had to sign a form committing them to silence!
KGB-directed torture chambers led to suicides...
These ex-detainces in Nairobi have revealed that other prisoners, including Leon Madakeni, star of the South African film Wanaka, as well as Nomhlanhla Makhuba and another person known as Mark, committed suicide rather than suffer re-arrest at the hands of their KGB-trained guardians. Madakeni drove a tractor up a steep incline in Angola, put it into neutral and died as it somersaulted down the hill ...
- The ex-guerrillas in Nairobi displayed immense courage in speaking out publicly - their courage might have contributed to secure the lives of eight colleagues who had fled Tanzania through Malawi hoping to reach South Africa on the principle that better a South African jail than the ANC 'security.'
- This group, including two leaders of the mutiny in the ANC camps in Angola in 1984, arrived in South Africa in April, were immediately detained at Jan Smuts Airport by the security police for interrogation, and then released three weeks later.
- The day after their release they gave a press conference in Johannesburg, confirming the account of the mutiny published on this page.
This regimen of terror, extending beyond the gates of the ANC/SACP `Buchenwald' of Quadro, was a necessary element in the total practice of repression and deception which made the Anti-Apartheid Movement the most successful Popular Front lobby for Stalinism anywhere in the world.
- No international Stalinist-run public organization has ever had such an influence and shown such stability, reaching into so many major countries, for so long
- Vital to its success has been a practice of open and covert censorship The ANC's prisoners were its necessary sacrificial-victims.
The KGB in Africa
The prison system to which they were subject goes back to the late 1960s. It was the successor and the complement to the prison system on which blacks in South Africa are weaned with their mothers' milk.
- In 1969 one of the editors of this journal met two South Africans in London who said they had fought in the first MK guerrilla operation in mid-1967 - a disastrous fiasco across the Zambezi River into the Wankie area of Rhodesia, along with guerrillas from the Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU), then led by James Chikerema.
- (The ZAPU president, Joshua Nkomo, was in detention).
- The two men described how they had eventually succeeded in escaping from Rhodesia, and how their criticism of the operation had led to their imprisonment in an ANC camp in Tanzania.
- An article on the theme appeared the same year in the British radical newspaper Black Dwarf then edited by Tariq Ali.
The revelations by the Nairobi five indicate how little has changed. In his book on black politics in South Africa since 1945, Tom Lodge, (Black politics in South Africa Since 1945, Ravan, 1987), writes:
In 1968 a batch of Umkhonto defectors from camps in Tanzania sought asylum in Kenya, alleging that there was widespread dissatisfaction within the camps. They accused their commanders of extravagant living and ethnic favouritism. The first Rhodesian mission, they alleged, was a suicide mission to eliminate dissenters. In political discussions no challenge to a pro-Soviet position was allowed (p300).
- From 1968 to 1990, nothing basic altered in the ANC's internal regime in the camps, except that in the high noon of the Brezhnev era it operated para-statal powers under civil war conditions in Angola, where a large Cuban and Soviet presence permitted the ANC security apparatus to 'bestride the narrow world like a Colossus.'
From the account of the ex-mutineers, ANC administrative bodies ruled over its elected bodies, the security department ruled over the administrative organs, and KGB-trained officials - no doubt members of the SACP - ruled over the security apparatus.
- Umkhonto we Sizwe functioned as an extension in Africa of the KGB.
- Its role in the civil war in Angola was to serve primarily as a surrogate to Soviet foreign policy interests, so that when the ANC rebels proposed that their fight be diverted to South Africa this counted as unpardonable cheek, to be ruthlessly punished.
- Over its own members, the ANC security apparatus ruled with all the arrogance of a totalitarian power.
There is a direct line of connection between the ANC reign of terror in its prisons - which a UN High Commission for Refugees official described as more frightening than Swapo prisons - and the 'necklace' killings exercised by ANC supporters within South Africa, especially during the period of the 1984-86 township revolt, but now once again revived against oppositional groupings such as Azapo.
- (The ANC's' necklace' politics was also a definite contributory element provoking the carnage in Natal). Two former ANC prisoners, Similo Boltina and his wife Nosisana, were in fact necklaced on their return to South Africa in 1986, after having been repatriated by the Red Cross (letter from Bandile Ketelo, 9 April 1990).
- When leaders of the Mass Democratic Movement publicly expressed their 'outrage’ at Winnic Mandela's 'obvious complicity’ in the abduction and assault on 14 year-old Stompie Mocketsi Seipe, leading to his murder, this was in response to very widespread and very well-founded revulsion among Soweto residents - especially ANC supporters such as members of the Federation of Transvaal Women (Fetraw).
- They were enraged by the jackboot politics of the so-called Mandela United Football Team, whose 'coach` - to the satisfaction of Fetraw members - has been convicted of Stompie's murder.
- This squad of thugs, based in Mrs Mandela’s house, acted within Soweto in the same way that the ANC/SACP security acted abroad, in Angola, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Ethiopia and Uganda.
The welcome of Captain Dirk Coetzee, head of the regime's assassination squad, into the arms of the ANC is an indication of the future course of development, as is the decision by the new Swapo government in Namibia to appoint a number of top South African security policemen, including the former chief of police in the Ovambo region, Derek Brune, to head its secret organs of coercion.
The South African prison system was replicated in the ANC prisons even into everyday terminology, above all at Quadro. This is a name that requires to become common currency in political discourse: it is the Portuguese for `No.4' the name used throughout South Africa for the notorious black section of the prison at the Fort.
Sneers by warders at soft conditions in 'Five Star Hotels', the common description of punishment cells as 'kulukudu' and the whole atmosphere of brutal crassness is quintessentially South African, spiced with the added sadism of the Gulag. The ANC prison system combined the worst of South African and of Russian conditions fused together, and it is this new social type - as a refinement and augmentation of each - that is now offered to the people of South Africa as the symbol of freedom.
