DO OR DIE FOR THE ANC'S "NEW SA."

South Africa is at a fork in the road.

Skills flight is at unprecedented crisis levels and has been so for years. Corruption is rife and crime is rampant. Affirmative action, in effect bald-faced reverse racism is succeeding - only insofar as it chases away valuable skills – and replaces capable people with incompetent individuals selected on the basis that they have a black skin and can walk upright. Our health services, education and infrastructure are in the final throes of failing.

South Africa is being emptied of morals, of ethics, of skills, of hope, of a future.

BEE deals disguised as so-called economic catch-up deals for blacks serve only to benefit the few, the new black elite, providing they show their absolute allegiance to His Highness Tarboy by sowing their lips to his arse and working within his Borg “collective”.

Fifty percent of people in South Africa live below the poverty line and are worse off now than under apartheid. Unemployment is endemic and shows no sign of improvement, compounded by the Eskom debacle. AIDS robs the country of one thousand people per day and leaves behind orphans destined to become the next decade’s crisis.

Under normal circumstances, in normal societies, even problems like these would be solvable. Germany and Japan arose from the ashes of World War II to become economic superpowers.

But not in the New! Improved! South Africa! Why?

Because South African politics is controlled by an arrogant tripartite of crooks, the ANC/ Cosatu/ Communist Party alliance oblivious and unwilling to face reality and accept responsibility for their monumental stuff-ups.

The soul of South Africa is dying. Denial is the buzzword. Deny it, bullshit long enough and people will begin to believe you. Heck, even you begin to believe your own bullshit. After years of denial, only as recent as 2007 did Mbeki acknowledge that crime was a crisis. A case of realising the gate to the horse’s stable was not only open but had been stolen and the horse had bolted and was last seen running across Siberia. The gate remains missing, sold for spares and no-one knows how to build a new one. Oh, and forget about retrieving the horse.

The country is at a fork in the road. One prong in the road leads to a country headed by a lame duck president of the old order, unwilling to move on from race issues, hanging on to failed Marxist ideologies. The other fork leads us to a populist US-style shake-down politician of parallel socialist leanings whose credentials include the ability to accept bribes and evade prison.

Either prong of the fork is a ghastly proposition. We need to put the brakes on and assess our options, look behind and see where we took the wrong turns in the road, and reverse if need be, to points before the ANC messed things up. To proceed down either fork now without correcting the past mistakes is to compound calamity on top of failure and invite annihilation of the nation that would make the Zimbabwe anarchy look like a picnic. Surviving the new SA will take a miracle.
