A security guard at the Glenstantia Primary School in Garsfontein, Pretoria, has been shot and injured by black gunmen on Tuesday, following an attempted hijacking. Police Inspector Malose Mashiane said the guard was on duty at the school around 3pm when a white Toyota Tazz with four suspects parked outside the premises. One of them got out and approached a white Toyota Quantum which had parked outside the school to collect children. The man, who was armed, told the driver of the Quantum to hand over the key. The guard noticed what was happening and intervened.


A gunfight ensued between the two. The guard was shot in the leg. He was later taken to a city hospital, No arrests were made and the attackers got away. Since the introduction of the ruling regime’s forced integration policies, formerly white English-speaking schools have become predominantly black.


Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille, visiting the Mogoba ‘informal settlement’ east of Johannesburg after two party members were assaulted by a group claiming to be ANC members, said the attack was one of many acts of intimidation recently perpetrated against DA activists working in ANC strongholds around the country. During the Mogoba attack on Monday, Collen Mdluli and fellow activist Thokazani Nhleko were hit with axes and shovels, and Mdluli’s house was also burnt down, leaving him, his wife and children homeless.
In the last three months another five incidents of intimidation and violence have been reported.

An 18-year-old black youth has been arrested for the murder of a black police reservist in Nyanga, Cape Town police said. A group of police members were on duty and part of a routine crime operation when they saw a stationary car with four occupants in Sikhwalimanzi Street. When they approached the vehicle, several shots
were reportedly fired at them. Reserve Constable Bulelani Ndita, 29, sustained a bullet wound in the chest and died on the scene. A SAPS senior officer based at Provincial Visible Policing was shot in the stomach and both legs. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital. The third officer, a detective constable, 30, sustained a gunshot wound in his leg. He is in a stable condition in hospital. The 18-year-old was arrested at Brown’s Farm.







The other three got away meanwhile, allegations have surfaced in the Cap;e Town media that the shootout was a battle between officers from the Organised Crime Unit and "allegedly corrupt police reservists". It was reported by two Cape Town newspapers that the shooting occurred between the two groups, who should have been working together. But police spokesperson Billy Jones said the bullets that wounded the police officers, including the reservist, were fired by ‘gunmen in a car’.

A white Vryheid game rancher , who was sodomised by black prisoners in a police cell while the inmates were singing, is claiming R1,2-million from the minister of safety and security. According to evidence led in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, the blacks presumably did so to drown the victim's screams, Game rancher Etienne van Wyk and farm manager Zacharia Duvenhage were put into the Hlobane police cells on trumped-up charges for allegedly transporting Van Wyk's game animals without a licence. Duvenhage was not sodomised but was assaulted and he is claiming R350 000 from the minister.


Their counsel, advocate Gerrie Roberts, SC, said the acting police station commander was asleep and was not woken by the screams of Van Wyk while he was being sodomised. Other policemen did not respond to the screams either. Van Wyk and Duvenhage were first put into a cell on their own, but were then moved by the Azanian policemen to a cell with 14 occupants, all black.

The Vryheid district surgeon, Dr Senta Klingenberg, told the court that there was evidence of repeated penetration of Van Wyk. Van Wyk managed to phone his wife who contacted the investigation officer in the game transport case. The investigation officer went to the station and found the gate locked. He phoned the station's number and heard a phone ringing in the charge office, but no-one responded. He sounded his vehicle hooter but there was no response and he climbed the locked gate and went into the charge office where he found the commander, an Inspector Mtshali, asleep at 3:55am. He took Van Wyk and Duvenhage to Klingenberg. She found tears, blood and bruising, indicating repeated penetration.

Another white man has been shot dead by black killers, while his son was wounded in their house in Kameelsdrift north of Pretoria in the early hours of Tuesday morning. "The robbers shot the man and his son and fled without taking anything from the house," said the police. In yet another attack on whites a man was confronted by two robbers in his Kameelsdrift home around 3am. The man refused to give the robbers the keys to his car. "He fought them until one of the robbers stabbed him in his chest. The robbers left without taking the car," said a spokesman for the local police. No one was arrested, but the paperwork was done by opening a file of attempted house robbery and murder…



Six black youths at the so-called eThekwini detention centre used makeshift knives, carved from mirrors, to attack three of the staff before escaping through the roof. Department of Social Welfare spokesperson, Mandla Ngema, promised ‘increased safety measures’ at the Pinetown youth rehabilitation centre in Kwazulu-Natal, but said that the centre will not be closed as ‘the other children housed there will have nowhere to go’. He also promised to address the shortage of staff. One of the injured staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident happened while three of the staff were guarding 28 boys.


He also claimed they could not defend themselves because they were not allowed to carry weapons while on duty. It is alleged that some of the black boys are older than 17, but were admitted into the centre because ‘there was no way of confirming their ages’. In theory, such youth centres are meant for youths aged between 14 and 17 who have committed various crimes, as well as those who are regarded as troublesome by their families and communities. In practice, many black ‘youths’ are allowed to stay there who are older than that. White children, always outnumbered sometimes 100 to 1, are regularly beaten and abused by the more numerous and older blacks since such institutions have been forcibly integrated. .

And yet another white woman, Mary Visage (38), of Drummond in Kwazulu-Natal, has been brutally attacked and killed by black gunmen. Her two traumatised children spent Friday night with the body of their adopted mother, who had been shot in the stomach, not realsing she had already bled to death. Superintendent Muzi Mngomezulu of the police claimed that the motive behind her death was unknown, even though such racist killings .have become commonplace under black rule. A neighbour told how the elder girl, a 6-year-old, came running on Saturday morning with tears in her eyes: “Come see, mommy is sleeping and she doesn't want to wake up.” Apart from her cellphone, nothing was stolen from the house.
