Hi, You are really naive if you think that the government are giving you the right statistics of the crime in South Africa. Yes, I agree with you that South Africans should be hopefull that the country will somehow survive and turn to some sort of order. I do not think you understand the different life styles in other countries. I grew up in the NW province, when I was a little boy I could walk around at night and nothing would happen to me.
Later on in life I had to watch where I was going because of the shit the new government dropped our beautifull country in. I know live in the US, and man I can not tell you how nice it is to not have burglar proof in front of your doors and windows.
I can walk late at night without any worries and sometimes we leave the doors of our house and cars unlock. Yes, I know stuff can happen here too, and there are some bad spots, but comparing to South Africa at the moment, it is Utopia.
Boet, will your mind change if you have friends or family members attacked or maybe yourself. I hope it does not happen, it is a shitty feeling. What do you tell all the people who's family members died violently in South africa, do you tell them everything is OK. I don't think so.
